ELBSEGELEI offers guided, individual half-day and sunset sailing trips on the Elbe in Hamburg / Germany. From Hamburg or Wedel to Blankenese, Stade, Glückstadt and back. A sailing experience for between two and ten fellow sailors (closed groups of up to 12 people), who want to experience exciting moments on Germany's most beautiful, challenging and diverse river. Our professional skippers will take you along on a genuine sailing voyage aboard a modern 13-metre sailing yacht (Bavaria 42-3 cruiser).
With us, you can experience Hamburg and the Elbe up close in true maritime, sporting style! You can be as active or as passive as you like. A truly hanseatic experience, which has previously only been available to the owners of yachts on the Elbe between Hamburg and Helgoland!
For corporate customers and businesses, ELBSEGELEI offers four unique sailing events in Hamburg / Germany as individual teamevents, incentives, coaching / team-building (2 to 90 persons), and exclusive board meetings that give managers and your company the utmost privacy.
ELBSEGELEI also rents out its elegant, modern sailing yacht the "ZAANDAM" as a maritime event location, accommodation and conference room at the foot of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, in the heart of Hamburg's port. On board with us, you can expect the usual high standard of comfort, with service staff, catering if required, and restaurant recommendations in the immediate vicinity.
Sailing times: The ELBSEGELEI is here for you every day from March to October and is thus unique in this form in Hamburg. See dates
Voyage duration: Approx. 2 or 4 hours. If required, we can also offer shorter or multi-day trips, for example to Stade or Glückstadt. In order to ensure we are able to carry out the trip within a fixed time frame, we may need to use the engine, for example in calm conditions or if there is too much wind.

Participants: 1 - 11 persons. The trip generally takes place with up to nine persons. Children aged 0 - 6: only when accompanied by parents. Guests aged 14 to 18: only with signed authorisation from a parent/guardian.
Prerequisites: The ELBSEGELEI is basically happy to welcome anyone of any age. Nevertheless, the feasibility of our offering does depend a little on the constitutions of our guests, i.e. our fellow sailors. The basic prerequisites for our voyages are mobility, reasonably good sense of balance and not being afraid of the ship's movements. Each participant should be capable of swimming without assistance for 1-2 minutes.
Equipment and clothing: You need to bring waterproof clothing, clean shoes with light soles, and depending on the weather a hat and sunglasses. Please wear trousers that don't have any rivets (jeans with the usual rivets on the seat pockets are not really suitable).
Weather: The sailing trip will not take place and will be rescheduled in case of thunderstorms, wind strength of more than 6-7 Bft. or force majeure. In the case of thunderstorms or stormy weather, the tour will be interrupted or terminated. Otherwise, the sailing trip will take place in all weathers. The German Meteorological Office (DWD) helps us plan with greater certainty.
Services: A sailing voyage. Life jackets provided on loan. Instructions for the ship, navigation, meteorology and safety. Participants may steer and sail the ship themselves. Experienced, professional skipper. Drinks are available on board for a small fee.
The yacht: Bavaria 42-3. Naturally, our sailing yacht boasts a ship safety certificate from BG Verkehr (the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for Commercial Transport, Postal Logistics and Telecommunication), a ship's crew certificate and various commercial insurances.
Skipper: Among others: Holger Brauns, owner and skipper of the Elbsegelei and a passionate sailor of 40 years. Qualifications include SKS (coastal pleasure craft driving licence), SRC (short range certificate) and SBF See (pleasure craft driving licence). In addition, participant in German sailing championships, international championships and European championships.
